Skip Prosser a great coaching mentor

I having a tough year with my friend Matt Masiero, Alicia Richardson my son's fiance, and my son's real father being murdered and now Skip Prosser passing away. As a young coach at Five-star Basketball camp I had gotten to know Skip, he had always been great to me. He never big timed anybody. He was great mentor for young coaches in this business. Thank you Skip for a being a better person and being a great coach. I had the opportunity to coach his son Mark at Five-star and only wish that Skip could see Mark become a Head Coach. The Prosser family will be in my prayers.

Fathers of High School Full Court Pressure

In the current Vance Walberg craze of Full Court pressure and attacking offense. I would like to tell you about 2 High School coaches that have influence this current craze that is Ralph Tasker of Hobbs High School, Hobbs, New Mexico a Hall of Fame Coach who won over 1,000 games in his career in a state that has game limits and he also won 12 State Championships. Coach Tasker in my opinion started the original Match-up Press and press on made or missed shots. His 1969-70 team averaged 114.6 points a game which is the national record for scoring average and out of the top ten all time scoring average teams 4 out of the 10 are Tasker teams. Another Hall of Fame coach who deserves credit for this is Coach Fred Williams of Beaumont Hebert High School in Beaumont, Texas who won 4 state championships in Texas. Both of these coaches deserves credit for their styles of play that would later influence Coach Kenny Hoffpauir and Charles Breithaupt with playing uptempo Basketball. Coach Hoffpauir coaches in Texas, but also coached in the Fresno, California area in the 1990's where he influenced then Coach Vance Walberg who was at Clovis West High School in California. Coach Breithaupt coached at Hardin-Jefferson High School in Sour Lake, Texas and his team averaged 109.4 points a game. He and his formers players and now coaches at Hardin-Jefferson and Kountze have won 5 State Championships.

The Live Period is beginning

I wish NCAA would give more thought to giving more time for College coaches to evaluate players this month flies by. Coaches are running the country like mad men. Kids from smaller states get killed by the lack of evaluation time.
